I recently completed a Watercolor Batik painting commission. The subject matter picked by a friend and Yoga enthusiast of a specific Yoga pose in my Batik style.

The painting is 11 x 14 and I happenned to have a frame I thought complemented the piece. I was very excited to work on this project with her from designing the concept based on reference she supplied to a color rendering and then on to the finished art.
All the while both of us knowing that the when the watercolor hits the rice paper there is no going back. Every batik I paint this way has a element of surprise when the final layers of wax are ironed off.
